Kraken reaches $30M settlement with SEC over staking as IRS seeks person info

Cryptocurrency alternate Kraken has reached an settlement with america Securities and Alternate Fee to cease providing staking providers or applications to U.S. purchasers.

In a Feb. 9 announcement, the SEC stated it had charged Kraken with “failing to register the supply and sale of their crypto asset staking-as-a-service program,” which the fee claims certified as securities underneath its purview.
